Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Records Management: 

    Custodian of all town records, including town codes, meeting minutes, legal documents, and historical archives. 

  • Elections: 

    Manages election logistics, prepares ballots, certifies results, and serves as the chief election officer. 

  • Vital Statistics: 

    Acts as the Registrar of Vital Statistics, issuing birth certificates, marriage licenses, and death certificates. 

  • Licensing: 

    Issues various licenses and permits (e.g., dog licenses, pet licenses, permits for public gatherings). 

  • Public Information: 

    Administers Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests, ensuring public access to government information. 

  • Official Documentation: 

    Attests to and certifies town documents, keeps the town seal, and administers oaths of office. 

  • Board Support: 

    Prepares agendas, gives notice of meetings, and records proceedings for the Town Council or Board.
